OAS/GNT Sustainable Heritage Endorsement ProgrammePHOTOVOICE PROMPT #1: THAT’S WE CULTURE
What do you see here? (Addressed to the whole group)
A sunken vessel
Why did you take this photo? (Addressed to the photographer)
It is rusty piece of metal with plants growing out of it.
What is really happening here? (Addressed to the whole group—alternatively what does the photograph represent?)
We see a boat that came too close to the shore and ran aground.
The amount of rust tells us that is has been there for a long time, possibly thirty or more years.
There is a cactus garden growing out of it. We assume birds dropped the seeds there and they stated to grow.
We see a bit of Petite Martinique and Petite St. Vincent in the background. We see a fishing vessel in the water.
Windward is the village where vessels are built and in this case it is also where this boat died.
