OAS/GNT Sustainable Heritage Endorsement ProgrammePHOTOVOICE PROMPT #1: THAT’S WE CULTURE
What do you see here? (Addressed to the whole group)
A hardworking woman, rolling flour, kneading the dough, woman’s work, kitchen work.
Why did you take this photo? (Addressed to the photographer)
There are probably not a lot of young ladies who can bake bread from scratch anymore. We rely on bakeries now, and bread vans that come around the community. The bread man passing all the time but this, baking bread at home, is still part of our culture.
What is really happening here? (Addressed to the whole group—alternatively what does the photograph represent?)
A typical home where you don’t depend on the bakery
You do your own thing home. You feed your family
Modernization – times changing
Duty of wife and mother
