OAS/GNT Sustainable Heritage Endorsement ProgrammePHOTOVOICE PROMPT #1: THAT’S WE CULTURE
What do you see here? (Addressed to the whole group)
A dilapidated house, bush, trees, a pipe
Why did you take this photo? (Addressed to the photographer)
The house represented the culture because it is old and forgotten. The way people used to live isn’t any more. For instance, at Christmas time people used to share food with their neighbors or people used to keep their house open and you were always welcome to stop by.
What is really happening here? (Addressed to the whole group—alternatively what does the photograph represent?)
They discuss whether they have ever have those features, food sharing and open house, in their community. Most have not experienced either previously.
Reminds me of bush people, of Africa because a lot of people live their in board houses too.
