What do you see here? (Addressed to the whole group)
Plum growing on a tree
Why did you take this photo? (Addressed to the photographer)
This is my Mom’s provision stand. She sells fruits and vegetables to earn a living.
What is really happening here? (Addressed to the whole group—alternatively what does the photograph represent?)
Several of the fruits and vegetables are imported and not grown here.
We do not get enough rain fall for all of the crops to grow.
It reminds us that we are not sustainable.
Local people prefer foreign produce. Grapes and apples cannot grow here and are expensive and is always is demand.
There is always more demand for tomatoes than supply, certain times during the year the price of tomatoes soar to EC$8 per pound.
Imported carrots are bigger and more attractive than locally grown carrots.
