OAS/GNT Sustainable Heritage Endorsement ProgrammePHOTOVOICE PROMPT #3: The Things Tourists Never See
What do you see here? (Addressed to the whole group)
an abandoned building, fence to bar entry, trees
Why did you take this photo? (Addressed to the photographer)
There are sites like this that tourists aren’t aware off. They see one side of things, the well taken care of side. They go to national sights but don’t see the whole picture.
What is really happening here? (Addressed to the whole group—alternatively what does the photograph represent?)
These kinds of places don’t have meaning to tourists
There is more than just beauty here
Knowing the whole picture might make them understand the place better
But people may not spend their money to come if they see these places.
