PHOTOVOICE PROMPT #4: This is not the Grenada I once Knew

What do you see here? (Addressed to the whole group)

A sign, subjects taught at the institution, happy hill school logo

Why did you take this photo? (Addressed to the photographer)

Where the school is located, used to have cherry, mango and other types of trees. We used to come and play here. During the revolution they built a school. Bernadette Bailey was the name of it. A bomb had exploded in the Queens Park and Bernadette Bailey was one of the people killed. My brother and I were there, in that same area, could have been us.

What is really happening here? (Addressed to the whole group—alternatively what does the photograph represent?)

Ohhh, that’s why people call the school Bailey or Bailey School. Wow

People saying it without knowing the history

Hidden history, forgotten history

Development – school develops community

PHOTO Title: Hidden History
