Grenada Heritage Archives (GHA) is the only online national repository of history and culture in Grenada. We are a public institution open to everyone.
Our unparalleled and growing archive collection offers insight into the history of people of Grenadian descent in the Caribbean. Our work recognizes the importance of untold stories and provides a platform to encourage enquiry and dialogue. We place people and their historical accounts at the heart of everything we do.
Collections
“Where are our Heroes, Martyrs and Monuments?”
GHA has embarked on the journey to collect and preserve materials which address the historical representation of people of Grenada in the Caribbean. Our online archive collection is now one of the most comprehensive collections that documents the history and cultural heritage of Grenada.
Originating as a community archive amassed over many years, the archive is being transformed into a more professional one. Archivists and trained volunteers must continue to catalogue, contextualise and expand the archive collection. Our unique archive collection differs from conventional, traditional archives as it remains rooted in the community that created it.
SUBJECT GUIDES
Our subject guides offer an introduction to key themes within our collections. Each subject guide presents an historical overview, related items from our collection and bibliography to support further research. We are continuously adding new subject guides, however if you have a particular interest or suggestions, we would love your feedback, email admin@grenadanationaltrust.org. Topics covered are: Indigenous Life, Enslavement, Uprisings, Activism and Movements, Protests and Campaigns, Free Coloureds, Art and Publishing, Military History.
You can further your research via the Archives Hub Discovery Network, which lists links to institutions providing basic access to their collections and repositories.

Support GHA today to secure our tomorrows.
Donate as much as you can give to help us reach our target. This will provide what it needs to expand our collection, mount outstanding exhibitions, ensure universal access to our archives through digitization and mobilization, enable our Learning team to reach many more learners and provide GHA with much needed specialist expertise.
We also hope to access and digitize family records (births/marriages/deaths) which will be of great assistance in discovering family histories and establishing family trees but this first requires us to raise awareness and heighten public interest.
Our history is worth it.
